The journey to Mardi begins from a drive/ flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Then you will be trekking to Pothana through stone steps, taking uphills along the forest of Rhododendron towards the village settlements.

The average trekking duration is 5 – 6 hours per day. The trekking routes are stable and are not physically demanding. Also, you should walk through narrow and steep ridges for some distance but the overall trekking trails are pretty simple and easy.

The trail to Forest Camp is quiet along the dense forest of Oak, Hemlock, Rhododendron, and Maple. From Forest Camp, you will trek to the Low Camp and then High Camp before finally crashing at Mardi Base Camp.

The Base Camp of Mardi sits at the height of 4500m. After exploring the Mardi Base Camp for sometimes, you will descend to the High Camp and towards the Siding Village. As there are only a few tea houses, make sure you make the booking in advance. Booking is only possible through phone calls, so ask for a guide to provide you with the number. If you do not do the booking, they might accommodate you in the dining hall.
