While the autumn season has the clearest skies, trekking in Nepal during the cool monsoon has its own advantages. Nepal monsoon season starts from mid-June all the way to early September. While the treks to foothills of Himalayas are not possible during monsoon, the beauty of certain regions gets enhanced. No doubt, Nepal monsoon 2020 is still great time to visit Nepal as the trails are less crowded and the villages are full of life for agriculture practices. Upper Mustang trek

This region gets impressive number of visitors all-round the year and even more during monsoon. The high-altitude arid of Mustang lies north to the Annapurna massif and thus create a sharp contrast to the monsoon lushness.

The trial passes through the of the Kaligandaki George (deepest gorge in the world). As you pass on, you get to go through scattered Buddhist villages, red-walled monasteries, rim of steep canyon walls and past hidden caves. Finally, you will reach the forbidden kingdom of Lo Manthang- rare examples of living Tibetan culture. This is the best option for Nepal monsoon season.

Lower Everest Region

This is a very famous winter trekking destination. The regions in the northeast of the Annapurna region can be accessed by branching off from the Annapurna Circuit. You can drive to north upto Koto Upper and then start trekking. You can trek back to the Annapurna Circuit from Thorung La to Jomsom, and finally flying back to Pokhara from there.

I can say Dopla trek is quite underrated trekking circuit in Nepal- it deserves better treatment. The area have been allowed to foreigners in 1989 and still remains mystery to rest of the world.  The trail of Dolpo trek is centered on the Phoksundo lake- Nepal’s deepest lake. This magical crystal blue lake is located between the mountains. The area has a lot of cultural offerings along with Tshowa Monastery to learn about the Buddhist culture. This is among the best Nepal Monsoon Season.

The trek starts from Juphal, Nepalgunj where you can drive or fly and it takes 12- 14 Days.

Humla’s Limi Valley Trek

This remote trekking location has stored the virgin Nepalese culture. Nevertheless, this is a great hiking route of Nepal. This isolated trail offers an unparalleled panoramic mountain view of Mt. Saipal and Mt. Kailash. You can also immerse in the Buddhist culture of the region. You can also choose to go from Hilsa (Nepal’s longest river Karnali, enters the country from Hilsa) after crossing the Nara La Pass. If you are lucky, you can also encounter elusive snow leopard . In the same time, you can also see musk deer, and blue sheep.

Best Places to visit in Nepal in summer 2020


Whether it’s for monsoon or dry, summer or spring, Pokhara is the best place to visit in Nepal. Also named as “Cherapunji” of Nepal, Pokhara comparatively gets higher rainfall. But the rain usually gets voracious in the evening while the morning and the day are rather calm and clear.

Pokhara has spectacular scenery, adventure, good accommodation, and great food availability. The places blend nature with luxury while the streets are like the chilled-out version of Thamel. You can do cycling, paddle the boat, some sightseeing and cave visiting and even short break nearby.
Pokhara is only 6 to 7 hours drive from Kathmandu.

Chitwan National Park:

Have a keen inters in flora and Fauna- Chitwan is the right place to visit during monsoon. The place shows an alternate facet of Nepal, other than the ascent to mountain foothills. It is a place for natural life seeing in the safari-sort climate.
