Hiking to Mera peak Nepal:
The trekking starts with 25 to 30 mins flight from Kathmandu airport to Lukla short runway. From Lukla, you will trek to Paiya (also called Chutok) which is a 5 hours walk through the beautiful village. The trek continues to Pangkongma through Khare Khola which is almost a 6 hours walk. Then it’s an easier walk- downhill to cross the Hinku river and then to arrive Nashing Dingma which also takes around 5-6 hours. Again. Climb from Chalem Kharka up to Chunbu Kharka which is also a 6 hours walk. Then through the Hinku Valley, you can reach to Kothe which is taking around 5 hours. Further, walk to Tangnang which takes around 4 hours and then 4.30 hours more to Khare. The further 4-5 hours walk will take you to Mera Base Camp where the trekkers take rest.
Now, the real fun begins. Next day you shall climb to High Camp- 3-4 hours walk and then you will walk up through the snow to reach the summit continuously for 8-9 hours. From the peak, you can explore the mesmerizing view of the world’s highest Mountain- Mt. Everest and others as Lhotse and Cho Oyu.
Then it’s all about getting back to the base camp, Khote, Thuli Kharka. Lukla and then to Kathmandu.
Best time for Mera Peak:
During the climb, the instability of weather is a real challenge. The best time to climb is on the season of spring and autumn- from September to December and then from February to June.
