Bus to Lukla Everest

There is no bus that takes you from Kathmandu to Lukla. But there are few alternative options.

 You can take a bus or jeep to Jiri ( 9 hours drive) or even up to Shivalaya or Bhanda and then trek to Everest. From there it’s 5 to 6 days to the main EBC trail. The bus to Jiri costs around Rs 700 or you can book a jeep at Rs 3500. Further, the jeep can take you up to salleri and its 4 to 5 days from the main trail.

(Note: the road has recently been constructed and it’s quite bumpy. Also, the route might be closed during monsoon.)

Helicopter to Lukla
