Planning some escape from your busy and repeating schedule? Feeling like being closer to nature, away from all these concretes around? Everest Base Camp

Nothing about Nepal would be fascinating other than Mt. Everest. Being at the top of the world and waving a “Hello” from the peak of Everest is something everyone wishes to do. But not everyone can make it to the top through days of a risky mountain climb. So for a similar feel, a day or two in the lap of the highest peak in the world is also as fascinating as being at the top.

After a challenging trek of two weeks or more, you would make it up to 5,364m height. Don’t panic, trust me, the journey shall be great when you will have a huge Rhododendron forest, Traditional Sherpa land and beautiful view to accompany you all the way to the top. The time between May to March and September to December can be considered best for the Everest Base Camp trek.

Pokhara Valley

Pokhara Valley, around 6 hours of drive from Kathmandu or 25 minutes of flight is the best destination for sight-seeing and adventure. The best part is, your stay shall be luxuries with many standard hotel rounds here and you can enjoy a great natural scenario. Lakes, Caves, Waterfall, and Temples are the best things this beautiful valley has whereas Paragliding, Cycling, and Boating is something you must try.

The trek can be completed in just 5 days, with a maximum elevation of 3,210 m is Poonhill. The trek is not so difficult unless you rush for longer distances each day. Manaslu Trek

The remarkable trek flaunting amazing panoramas of the peaks on the Nepal-Tibet border is likely to beat the popularity of Annapurna Base Camp trek. The trek leads you to the base of the 8th highest mountain in the world. Stunning Mount Manaslu will be waving you with a bright smile once you cross Larkya Pass and move ahead. Kalinchowk of Dolakha

No Nepalese would love to miss the light snowfall and cable car experience during winter over Kalinchowk. And it is equally favored by the tourist as well; the place is near to the capital, affordable and gives amazing winter experience. With no doubt, this religious spot (the place has a temple of goddesses) is the quickest possible escape from the city- 132 km away from Kathmandu.

And with the view of the clouds forming below your feet, this high altitude destination is definitely a winter paradise.

Mustang

This isolated village named “Kingdom behind the Himalayas” is a great place to visit during winter. You can get closer to the local culture and unique lifestyle in Mustang. Unlike the upper Mustang, Lower Mustang is only for winter visitors. From August to early winter you can enjoy many cultural festivals – Tiji being the most important one.

You can also go for a short trek, enjoy camping and jeep rides through mountains. Winter is also a time for Orchards visit in Mustang.

You can find flights (Jomsom is 20 minutes airtime from Pokhara), buses or jeep from Kathmandu or Pokhara to reach Mustang.

Chitwan National Park

This being the oldest national park and the one listed in the world heritage site is the best tourist destination. No wonder, an elephant ride through the jungle (called “Hatti safari”) is the best thing of this 932km wide national park.

Here, you get chances to explore the wildlife, wide range of flora and fauna diversity along with boating and walk through the jungle. Chitwan National Park is 5 to 6 hours’ drive from Kathmandu and 4 to 5 hours’ drive from Pokhara.
